Bloomington Center for the Arts
1800 W Old Shakopee Rd,

Luis Fitch does not just retell the stories of his child-hood life in Mexico; he remixes them. He has retro-fitted the Mexican and Minnesotan mythologies with a crisp, vibrant street art sensibility. Like old-school vinyl on a DJ’s turntable, his cultural background is spun, scratched, and remade into works of art that are fresh and new.

Free bilingual art workshops for the whole family!

Join Luis Fitch in a bilingual hands-on workshop suitable for the whole family, where you’ll learn the art of creating stunning Papel Picado designs.

Papel Picado, meaning “perforated paper,” is a cherished Mexican tradition in which intricate designs are meticulously cut into tissue paper to produce vibrant and decorative banners. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crafter, this workshop offers an easy-to-follow guide to creating Papel Picado masterpieces.
